This image does a wonderful job of showing the issue of dust storms in North Africa during the war, but the image is owned by the Imperial War Museum in London and we did not have money to purchase rights to use it in the exhibit.

This is a commonly used image from London during the war. We considered using it, but decided it did not do enough to help convey our main message or show the impact of the Nazi bombing.

We originally wanted to use this image from Buchenwald Concentration Camp in Germany because of its ability to develop empathy. We also stood in the exact location of the cart and soldiers during a visit so found ourselves attached to this photo. However, we decided it is too graphic for younger students so opted to leave it out.
